Mak finished in a tie for second place after carding a career-low 2-over 215 (72-68-75) on the par 71, 6,038-yard Caledonia Golf Club course. The senior finished four shots behind Campbell’s Tahnia Ravnia (76-69-66=211) and tied with Jacksonville State’s Maya Parsons and Alexandra Prazak of Campbell. Mak’s second round score of 68 marked a career best and tied a school record for a single round as she carded six birdies, one bogey and one double bogey. She has earned a top three finish twice in her career and it was Mak’s seventh career top-10 finish while at JMU. She helped the Dukes capture a third-place finish among 12 teams.
JMU will compete in its second-straight Golfweek-sponsored event, playing in the Golfweek Conference Challenge, Mon.-Wed., Sept. 23-25. The 54-hole tournament will be played at Red Sky Ranch & Golf Club in Wolcott, Colo.
