HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison men's tennis finished day three of the ECU Shootout with four strong singles victories to close out the first fall tournament of the season.
Senior Ryan Pool (Melbourne, Australia/Braemar (Chattanooga) was named the Group 'A' singles winner following his 6-2, 6-0 victory over East Carolina's Joran Vliegen. Pool went a perfect 3-0 in Group 'A' singles play.
Finishing the weekend with a 2-1 record in singles play was senior Hugo Ramadier (Paris, France/Lycee Francais Chateabriand (Northern Arizona)). Ramadier won against East Carolina's Mario Martinez 7-6(0), 6-1 in Group 'B' singles action on Sunday.
Fellow senior Florent Sentenac (Borderes, France/Lycee Theophile Gautier (Auburn Montgomery)) also moved to a 2-1 record on the weekend by defeating Richmond's Will Welte 6-2, 6-0.
Also finishing strong in Group 'A' singles was senior Greg Vladimirsky (Staten Island, N.Y./Broward Virtual), who defeated Richmond's Paul Nahon 6-4, 2-6, 10-8.
The Dukes will be in action again next weekend when they travel to Elon, N.C., for the 2012 Elon Fall Invitational. Match play is set to begin Friday, September 21 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
