RICHMOND, Va., April 17, 2012 - James Madison junior Ryan Pool (Melbourne, Australia/Braemar(Chattanooga)) has been named Colonial Athletic Association Men's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Pool posted a 3-0 mark at No. 2 singles as JMU closed the regular season with three consecutive victories last week. He beat Richmond's Sebastien Fauchet, 6-3, 6-3 in a 4-3 win over the Spiders, defeated George Mason's Jimmy Davis, 6-2, 7-6 in a 7-0 triumph over the Patriots and edged Longwood's Giorgi Khmiadashvili, 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 in a 5-2 victory over the Lancers. With the wins, Pool improved his record to 14-5 on the season and was instrumental in helping the Dukes earn a No. 5 seed heading into the CAA Championships this weekend at Old Dominion.
