HARRISONBURG, Va., April 12, 2012 - In its final regular season match before conference championships, the James Madison men's tennis team dropped Longwood 5-2 on Thursday.  The win moved JMU to 11-9 on the season.

Madison started the match according to plan, winning the doubles point in the first two matches.  At No. 3 doubles, senior Tommi Nissinen (Oulu, Finland/Kastellin Luki)) and junior Hugo Ramadier (Rome, Italy/Lycee Francais Chateabriand (Northern Arizona)) got the Dukes started, defeating Nobu Tanaka and Steed Johnson 8-5.  Juniors Ryan Pool (Melbourne, Australia/Braemar(Chattanooga)) and Florent Sentenac (Borderes, France/Lycee Theophile Gautier(Auburn Montgomery)) followed in the No. 2 spot.  They topped Harry Kelleher and Edward Becker 8-5, securing the doubles point for the Dukes.  Senior Bertrand Moulin (Lyon, France/Aux Lazaristes Minimes(Wayne State)) and junior Greg Vladimirsky (Coral Springs, Fla./Broward Virtual) completed the doubles sweep when they topped Daniel Elston and Giorgi Khmiadashvili 8-6 in the top doubles spot.

Nissinen kept the Dukes scoring going in the No. 5 singles spot.  He earned the win over Kelleher 6-4, 6-2, to give JMU a 2-0 match lead.  Sentenac scored another JMU point in the No. 4 spot by taking down Becker in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, to give JMU a commanding 3-0 lead with four matches left to play.

In No.1 singles, Tanaka began to show life for the Lancers.  He beat Vladimirsky 6-1, 6-4 to give Longwood its first match point.  Ramadier, however, put the match away for the Dukes in No. 3 singles.  After dropping the first set, Ramadier battled back to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 and ensured the JMU victory.
