RICHMOND, Va. (March 23, 2011) - James Madison sophomore Ryan Vince earned CAA Men's Golfer of the Week honors after winning the C&F Bank Intercollegiate after playoff holes.
Vince finished the tournament at a career-best 3-under 141 (71-70) and in a three-way tie with teammate Chris Wellde (67-74-141) and Delaware's Justin Martinson (68-73-141) for the individual title at the event in Williamsburg, Va. The sophomore captured the title on the third playoff hole to earn his first collegiate title. Vince, who now has two top-five and three top-25 finishes this season, leads the Dukes in scoring average at 73.77 in 22 rounds played. Vince helped the Dukes earn a first place team finish on the Kingsmill Resort course.
The Dukes are next in action at The Rutherford Intercollegiate in State College, Pa., April 9-11.
