At JMU: Joined the Dukes' staff during the spring of 2006... Primary Recruiting Area: Northern Virginia, Fredericksburg area, West Virginia... in 2009 coached Dorian Brooks, a Third-Team All-America selection by The Sports Network, a First-Team All-CAA honoree, and a free agent signee of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers, and Third-Team All-CAA choice Theo Sherman... in 2008 directed an offensive front that included Rimington Award (nation's top center) winner Scott Lemn and other all-league honorees in Terrence Apted, Theo Sherman and Dorian Brooks and helped the Dukes average 38.1 points and 401.4 yards, including 282.8 per game rushing... in 2007 coached an offensive front that helped the Dukes average 33.3 points, 410.0 yards of total offense and 265.1 yards per game rushing... JMU led the CAA in rushing and was seventh nationally, and the Dukes led the nation in fewest quarterback sacks allowed, only six in 12 games... Lemn was First-Team All-CAA in 2007... in 2006 directed the team's offensive tackles and tight ends... named the team's offensive line coach prior to the beginning of the 2007 spring practice period... in 2006 coached tackle Corey Davis, who was First-Team All-Atlantic 10 and First-Team All-America by the Walter Camp Foundation.

Before JMU:
Coached the offensive line and tight ends in 2005 at Virginia Military Institute... coached the offensive line at Massachusetts from 2002-04 and the tight ends there in 2001... Massachusetts in 2003 tied for the Atlantic 10 Football Conference championship and participated in the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs... graduate assistant offensive line coach at Virginia Tech from 1999-2000, and was offensive and defensive line coach at Fork Union Military Academy in 1998... Virginia Tech made three bowl appearances during his playing career and was a bowl participant during each of his two seasons with the program's coaching staff... four-year starter as an offensive guard at Virginia Tech, making 47 consecutive starts during his career and earning All-Big East Conference honors in 1995.

Personal:
Bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's in consumer studies... wife, Susan, is a Virginia Tech graduate and has been a pharmaceutical sales representative... they have two daughters, Claire Elizabeth (7) and Anna Catherine (5).
