Sophomore Destiny Simmons (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Watkins and Williams both represented JMU in the 100-meter dash at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational.  Watkins ran a personal-best 12.28 seconds for 29th place, and Williams tallied a 30th-place finish with her time of 12.38 seconds.

Rounding out the day’s top-five finishes was sophomore Jasmine Waddell (Mount Royal, N.J./Kingsway Regional) in the 100-meter hurdles.  She crossed the line in 14.47 seconds to take fifth place.  Monk took ninth place with a time of 14.95 seconds.

JMU next competes on Saturday, April 20 as the Dukes host the JMU Open Invitational for the first time at the new University Park complex.  Competition is slated for a 10 a.m. start.
