HARRISONBURG, Va., April 6, 2012 - Three Dukes qualified for ECAC competition on Friday as the James Madison track and field team took part in meets at Liberty and Stanford.
Three Madison athletes competed in the Stanford Invitational, and all three qualified for ECAC Championships. In the 1,500-meter run, junior Annie Reiner (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) took sixth place with a time of 4:29.01 Sophomore Erin Lopresti (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) took ninth with a time of 4:30.93. Her time was one-hundredth of a second inside the ECAC standard. Junior Katie Harman (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) took seventh place in the 5,000-meter run, finishing the race in 16:32.10.
Two Dukes also competed at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational. Sophomore Kristen Greene (Colonial Heights, Va./Thomas Dale) took fourth in the javelin (36.38 meters (119'4")) and junior Christianna Moss (Montpelier, Va./Patrick Henry) took 18th in the hammer throw (39.12m (128'4")).
The Dukes continue action tomorrow at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, the Stanford Invitational and the Liberty Collegiate Invitational.
