HARRISONBURG, Va., May 25, 2011 - James Madison will be represented by three student-athletes at the 2011 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary at Indiana's Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex May 26-28.
Senior Alison Parris (Saint Leonard, Md./Patuxent) will race in the 5,000-meter run, and sophomore Katie Harman (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) is entered in the 1,500-meter race while sophomore Marissa McDonald (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) will be in the long jump.
McDonald will kick things off Thursday at 1 p.m. with her qualifying for the long jump. Later that afternoon, Harman will race in the first round of the 1,500-meter run.
Should Harman advance to the quarterfinal, she will run Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with a spot in the NCAA championship meet on the line. On Saturday night, Parris hits the track at 8:05 p.m. for the 5,000-meter race.
