HARRISONBURG, Va., Jan. 28, 2013- James Madison's Diamond Dukes held their fourth annual Batter Up Barbeque and Silent Auction on Sunday Jan. 27 in the Memorial Hall Gymnasium.

The event included barbeque style food, a silent auction, tours of JMU baseball's indoor space and guest speaker Brian Cain.

"When the whole baseball family gets together it is really special. It gives us a chance to thank the players, families and alumni who help the program," said Coach Spanky McFarland.

Guest speaker Brian Cain, a Peak Performance coach and best-selling author, ended the night with an entertaining speech. Cain worked with the Diamond Dukes over the weekend on the mental aspects of baseball.

"Everyone knows baseball is a mental game. If you succeed three out of ten times then you are considered really good. There is not another profession where if you succeed three out of ten times you are any good," said Brian Cain.

The Diamond Dukes start their season in three weeks with an away game on Feb. 15 against Coastal Carolina and their first home game against Longwood on Feb. 20.
