Scouting Penn State: 
Record:  3-1
Results:  Wins over Bucknell, Duquesne, eighth-ranked Virginia; loss at ninth-ranked Loyola
Conference:  American Lacrosse Conference (Florida, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Ohio State, Vanderbilt).  Last year's champion was Florida, but Northwestern won the previous five titles and was the 2012 NCAA champion.

Of Note:  Assistant coach Amy Altig is a JMU alumna ('05) and a former two-time All-CAA goalkeeper for the Dukes. 

The Series vs. Penn State:
  From 1981 to 2004, the teams met annually, but the 2012 game is the first meeting since 2004.  Penn State leads the series 17-9, but the Dukes won the last two meetings and four of the last five meetings.

Ancarrow Player of the Week:  Redshirt senior Casey Ancarrow was selected the CAA Player of the Week for the week ending March 3.
     The Dukes attacker scored a total of eight goals in JMU's wins over Virginia Tech and Fairfield.
     Ancarrow tallied a game-high five goals in a 9-8 win at Virginia Tech on Feb. 27. She took only six shots in the game and also controlled a game-high four draws.
     She then scored three goals on only four shots and had an assist for a game-high four points in a 13-8 home win over Fairfield on March 2.  Ancarrow also had two ground balls and two draw controls in the contest.

Ancarrow Moving Up: Casey Ancarrow scored eight goals last week, giving her career totals of 130 goals, 50 assists and 180 points. 
     She moved from 14th to ninth on JMU's career goals list and is only 10 goals away from sole possession of sixth place on the list.  Among the players she passed was her coach, Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe (JMU '97), who had 125 career goals.
     She moved from 13th to 11th on the career points list and is only five points away from sole possession of ninth place.

3-0 Becoming a Habit:  JMU is off to a 3-0 start for the third time in the last four years.
