SCOUTING TOWSON
♦ The Tigers are 3-11 in Colonial
Athletic Association play after a 69-60 win against Hofstra on Feb. 19. Towson
is 1-6 on the road in conference play and sits in 10th place in the league
standings. Towson is 9-16 for the
season, including 3-9 on the road.

Junior guard Tanisha McTiller leads the squad in scoring (18.0) over a team-high
36.4 minutes each outing, the second highest average in the conference, adding
in 2.9 assists and 2.1 steals. Freshman
guard Dominique Johnson is second on
the team with 9.4 points per game and averages 3.2 assists with 2.1 steals over
her 17 games of action.

Redshirt junior forward Nyree Williams protects the interior
for the Tigers with a team-leading 7.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game
(third-most in the CAA).

Towson currently posts a -7.6 scoring
margin, putting up 55.6 points per game while allowing 63.2 by opponents. The Tigers also hold a -3.1 turnover margin,
giving the ball up 18.6 times per outing compared to opponents' 15.5 turnovers.
JMU FAST BREAK
♦ The Dukes are 11-2 in league play and
sit in second place in the CAA standings.
They are 2.5 games behind #18 Delaware and a full game ahead of Drexel. Overall, JMU has won 14 of its last 16 games
to improve its season record to 17-8.

Senior guard Tarik Hislop earned CAA Player of the Week honors following her
performances at ODU and Hofstra. For the
week, she averaged 23.0 points per game and 4.0 assists over 39.5 minutes
played each outing. She shot 43.9
percent from the floor and 75.0 percent from the free throw line.
♦ Since
falling to #18 Delaware, the Dukes have hit the gas on the court, particularly
on the interior. Sophomore Toia Giggetts posted an average
double-double last week, dropping 10.5 points and grabbing 13.0 rebounds per
game. Redshirt freshman guard Jazmon Gwathmey joined in with 9.5
points, 2.0 blocks and 7.0 boards while redshirt senior forward Kanita Shepherd pulled in 8.5 boards.

Freshman Precious Hall continued to improve this week, knocking down 90.9
percent of her shots from the charity stripe to boast her scoring average over
the last two games to 10.5 while committing 3.5 thefts per night. On the season, Hall averages 9.2 points per
outing with 86.9 percent shooting from the line and makes 1.3 steals.

Over the last two games, JMU has
averaged 54.5 rebounds per game with a +13.5 rebounding margin. The Dukes posted nearly 12 more rebounds in
each game last week than they are averaging for the season (42.7) and nearly
tripled their average rebounding margin (+5.4).
