RICHMOND, Va., Feb. 19, 2013 - James Madison men's tennis senior Ryan Pool (Melbourne, Australia/Braemar (Chattanooga)) earned Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week honors Tuesday for his performances against Hofstra and NJIT over the weekend.

Led by his play at the No. 1 singles position, Pool helped the Dukes tally their first wins of the 2013 spring season, collecting victories over league-foe Hofstra (6-1) and NJIT (5-2).  The senior took down Hofstra's Ari Richman 6-2, 6-3 on Friday before dispatching NJIT's Holger Norregaard 6-2, 6-4 on Saturday.  He is now 4-2 in single duals this spring as well as 15-4 overall.

Pool also went a perfect 2-0 in doubles play over the weekend with freshman partner Robert Stirling (Caboolture, Australia/St. Columbans College).  The pair defeated Hofstra's Ari Richman and Adrien Bailly 8-2 on Feb. 15 and NJIT's Petr Rousar and Erik Artursson 9-8(7) on Feb. 16.  As a team, Pool and Stirling now sit at 2-2 on the spring season and 12-3 including fall tournament play.

JMU returns to action Saturday, March 2 as the Dukes travel north for a CAA match-up at George Mason.  Play begins at 1 p.m. in Fairfax, Va.
