SCOUTING N.C. STATE
N.C. State entered the WNIT with a 16-16 record and finished the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season7-11 as the No. 8 seed in the ACC tournament.  After defeating Clemson in the first round, N.C. State fell in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament to No. 1 seed Duke. 

The Wolfpack won its WNIT first-round game on March 21, taking down Richmond 60-55 in Raleigh, N.C.  State shot 38.6 percent from the field and pulled down 44 rebounds, 16 of which were on the offensive end.  On the year, N.C. State is shooting 42.1 percent from the floor, including 35.5 percent from 3-point range.  They are allowing opponents to sink only 29.0 percent of 3-point attempts.
Against the Spiders, junior center Markeisha Gatling posted a team-high 14 points and tied junior forward Kody Burke with a team-high nine rebounds.
Overall, Burke leads the Pack with 13.4 points on 46.7 percent shooting from the floor and 7.2 rebounds per game.  She also has a team-high 54 blocks this season, good for 1.6 per outing. 
Junior guard Myisha Goodwin-Coleman is shooting a team-leading 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and leads N.C. State with 1.6 steals per game.  As a team, the Wolfpack averages 8.8 thefts but allows opponents to steal the ball 9.4 times per game.

JMU FAST BREAK
JMU finished the regular season 22-10 with a 15-3 record in Colonial Athletic Association play.  The Dukes were the No. 2 seed heading into the conference tournament and fell 50-34 to No. 3 Drexel in the semifinal round.
The Dukes advanced to the WNIT Second Round after defeating North Carolina A&T 77-64 on March 21.  JMU is now 14-0 in the postseason when playing at home.

Against the Aggies, freshman guard Angela Mickens posted career highs of 10 points, five rebounds and five steals for the Dukes.  She also posted a block, just the second of her career in a JMU uniform, over her 29 minutes of play Thursday night. 
Junior guard Kirby Burkholder notched her 10th double-double of the season against N.C. A&T with a team-high 22 points, including 3 3-pointers, and 14 rebounds.  She now is second all-time in JMU history with 172 career 3-pointers and tied for 20th all-time with 599 career rebounds.  The junior is averaging 14.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.

Senior guard Tarik Hislop posts a team-leading 16.2 points over 35.5 minutes played per game with 3.4 assists.  Freshman guard Precious Hall, the CAA Rookie of the Year, is the third top scorer with 9.6 points over 25.8 minutes played per game.  She is shooting 35.5 percent from the floor and 87.3 percent from the line, second only to Burkholder’s 88.3 percent from the charity stripe.
