HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison cross country senior Katie Harman (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) earned All-Region honors after finishing in 14th place at the NCAA Southeast Regional meet on Nov. 9 in Charlotte, N.C. This is the second straight year she has received the distinction.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association awards the honor to those individual runners who finish in the top 25 at each of the nine regional meets.
Two weeks ago, Harman also earned all-conference honors when she took second place in the Colonial Athletic Association cross country championships. She has been an All-CAA runner each of the four years she has competed for JMU.
Harman will lead the Dukes next Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Eastern College Athletic Conference championships as she defends her title as 2011 ECAC champion. The 6,000-meter race through Van Cortlandt Park in New York is the final race on the JMU cross country slate.
