HARRISONBURG, Va., November 1, 2011 - The James Madison cross country team jumped three spots to No. 7 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association regional rankings after a first-place finish at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship Meet last weekend.

The Dukes were lead by a first-place finish from junior runner Katie Harman (Clarksville, Md./River Hill), who finished the 6-kilometer course at Nash Farm Battlefield in Hampton, Ga., in 21:18 and earned Most Outstanding Performer.  In total, three Dukes finished in the top six including a third-place finish by junior Stacey Nobles (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes)  and a sixth-place finish by senior Jess Zozos (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler). All five JMU scorers finished the race in the top 12 as the Dukes captured the CAA title for the second straight year.

The news of the jump comes as the Dukes prepare for the NCAA Southeast Regional to be held Saturday, November 12 in Louisville, Ky.
