This honor was the second of the 2010 season for Parris, who was named the conference's top runner on Sept. 14. She shared the award with George Mason's Laura Sinclair, who won the George Mason Invitational on Oct. 2.
Parris finished third in the Gold race at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. on Friday, Oct. 1.
She completed the 6-kilometer course in 20 minutes 15 seconds, crossing the line just 11 seconds behind Georgetown's Emily Infeld, who won the race in 20:04. Parris led the Dukes to a third-place team finish in the 41-team field with 169 points.
Georgetown won the event with 34 points and Virginia was runner-up with 98 points.
Parris improved her finish this year by 14 spots from the 2009 event and ran 31 seconds faster than her time from last year (20:46).
This award is the second this season for Parris and third of her career. She earned her first CAA weekly accolade of the season on Sept. 14, after winning the JMU Open Cross Country Invitational (Sept. 11).
The cross country team currently ranks eighth in the Southeast region of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll, released on Monday.
Parris and the Dukes return to action on Oct. 16 when the teams split for the Indiana State Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind., and the William and Mary Open in Williamsburg, Va. Both races are slated for a 10 a.m. start.
