HARRISONBURG, Va., Sept. 14, 2010 - The James Madison women's cross country team jumped one spot to seventh in the Southeast region of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll, released Monday.
The Dukes won the JMU Open Cross Country Invitational last Saturday (Sept. 11) at New Market Battlefield in New Market, Va. Senior Alison Parris (Saint Leonard, Md./Patuxent) won the 5.2-kilometer women's race with a time of 18:21.3, more than one minute ahead of the nearest runner.
Joining the Dukes in the Southeast rankings are Colonial Athletic Association rivals George Mason (12) and William and Mary (15).
JMU returns to action on Friday, Sept. 24, at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
