Dear prospect,

Welcome to JMU Women's Basketball. Please click here to complete your online questionnaire. It is an honor for me as an alumnus to be head coach at the university that gave me so much athletically, academically and socially.

JMU is nationally ranked in many categories and with the combination of great people and necessary resources, JMU is truly a unique institution for higher learning. The city of Harrisonburg embraces a community that is committed to JMU athletics. Our on-campus facility, the Convocation Center, is one of the better "home court advantages" in the country and has helped us to a 53-5 record at home in the past 4 seasons.

JMU maintains a rich tradition of academic excellence as shown by a national ranking of 17th on The Kiplinger 100, a listing of schools that offer a first-class education at a reasonable price. JMU also ranked 15th in the nation for being the "most connected campus" and 5th nationally for "great campus food." JMU's College of Business placed among the top 5 percent of business schools, both public and private, in the country.

 View Guide

Our basketball program has an outstanding reputation at the national level. JMU ranks as one of the top 5 winningest Division I programs in the country. We completed another successful season by finishing 24-10 and advanced to the second round of the WNIT. This season marked the fourth consecutive year that JMU has competed in postseason competition (NCAA Tournament in 2007; WNIT in 2006, 2008, 2009), an accomplishment that no other team in the CAA can claim. Sophomore Dawn Evans finished the season as the second ranked scorer in the nation and reached the 1,000 point plateau faster than any other player in CAA history. An All-CAA performer for the second straight season, Evans was selected as a CAA First Team member. Evans has already broken 30 school records, 2 CAA records and was recently invited to try-out for the USA Basketball Under-19 National Team. Last year, JMU graduate Tamera Young was selected as the 8th overall pick in WNBA draft by the Atlanta Dream, making history as the franchise's first ever draft pick. We would love for you to be a part of our winning tradition.

Thanks for your interest and we look forward to seeing you in the future.

Sincerely,
Kenny Brooks
