    ANDERSON, CARTER AGAIN MEET ECAC QUALIFYING STANDARD IN SPRINTS

    COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 2, 2009 -- James Madison senior Tanique Carter (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) and senior Leslie Anderson (Dublin, Va./Pulaski County) met postseason qualifying standards in sprint races Saturday afternoon at the Jesse Owens Invitational Track and Field Meet at Ohio State.

     

    Carter again met the qualifying standard for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships in the 100 meter dash.  She placed third in the race with a time of 11.89 seconds.

     

    Anderson also met the ECAC standard again in her race, the 400 meters.  She placed 13th in the race in 55.90 seconds.

     

    The ECAC Championships are scheduled for May 15-17 at Princeton.

     

    Junior Alison Parris (Saint Leonard, Md./Patuxent) placed 13th overall and 11th among collegians in the 800 meters, where she was clocked in 2:12.77.
