JMU completed the six-kilometer race with 36 points thanks to five top-15 finishes. The Tribe tallied 28 points, with all of their points coming from top-10 finishes.
Senior Katie Harman (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) paced the Dukes, completing the course in a season-best 20:57.6 for a second-place finish. Senior Katie Gorman (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) turned in a fourth-place showing with a season-best time of 21:07.2 and senior Stacey Nobles (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) placed sixth just 10 seconds later. All three seniors were named to the All-CAA team.
Competing in her first collegiate championship meet, freshman Jenna Flickinger (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) also made the All-CAA squad when she placed 11th in the meet with a career-best 6k-time of 21:44.7. Sophomore Kristen Landry (Boonton Township, N.J.) rounded out the scoring-runners for JMU with a 13th-place finish 22:06.2, a season-best run for a 6k.
The Dukes will next head to Charlotte, N.C., for the NCAA Southeast Regionals. They are set to begin racing at noon on Friday, Nov. 9.
