CAA Standings:
The Dukes enter the final days of CAA competition in a two-way tie for sixth place in the CAA standings.
The top six teams in the final CAA standings qualify for the six-team CAA Tournament.  First-round games on Oct. 28 will feature the number three seed hosting the number six seed and the number four seed hosting the number five seed.
The first-round winners advance to the Nov. 2 semifinals, hosted by the top seed.  The top seed also hosts the Nov. 4 championship game.

Seniors Recognized Prior to Drexel Game:   JMU's senior class will be recognized prior to kick off vs. Drexel on Oct. 21.  Dukes seniors include Amalya Clayton, Elisa Davidson, Kelly Germain, Katie Menzie, Theresa Naquin and Dana O'Brien.

Wilson's Hat Trick:   Junior Lauren Wilson tallied her second career hat trick to lead JMU to its 3-0 win at Georgia State on Oct. 14.
Wilson recorded the 23rd hat trick in JMU soccer history and the first for the Dukes since Wilson netted three goals in a 4-0 home win over Delaware on Oct. 17, 2010.
She joins a group of five other JMU players who have recorded multiple career hat tricks.  That includes:  Kerri O'Connell ('94) with a school-record four; Ashley Williamson ('96) and Tasha Ellis ('99), each with three; and Therese Wolden ('99) and Corky Julien ('10), each with two.

Stynchula Gets Third Shutout:   In JMU's 3-0 win at Georgia State on Oct. 14, sophomore goalkeeper Marlee Stynchula made two saves to post her third shutout in the last four games.

Wilson Moves Up on Career Lists:  With her Oct. 14 hat trick at Georgia State, junior Lauren Wilson upped her career goals total to 24 and her career points total to 57.  She moved from 13th to 12th on JMU's career goals list and from 18th to 17th on the career points list.
Wilson needs one goal to move to 11th place and two goals to move to 10th place on the Dukes all-time goals list.
She needs only one point to move to 16th and three points to move to tied for 13th on the all-time points list.

Well-Rested Opponents:  When Virginia Commonwealth left the CAA for the Atlantic 10 earlier this year, it had an impact on the already-set CAA schedule.  As JMU's CAA "travel partner," VCU was scheduled to play JMU's Sunday opponent on the previous Thursday or Friday.
With VCU out of the CAA, JMU's Sunday opponent in league play now does not have a game on the previous Thursday or Friday.  That means the Dukes' Sunday CAA foes have a full week's rest before facing JMU.  On the other hand, JMU plays its Sunday game with less than three days' rest.
Dukes' opponents who benefit from the week off are Hofstra (3-1 win over JMU), Georgia State (3-0 loss to JMU) and Drexel (Oct. 21).

Four Opponents Projected for NCAA Field:  Four JMU opponents are projected to be among the 64 teams in the 2012 NCAA Tournament field, according to the website TopDrawerSoccer.com.  The weekly rankings are a running attempt to project the postseason NCAA Tournament qualifiers, including every automatic conference berth.
      JMU regular-season opponents on the
Week 10 rankings, released Oct. 15, are
        #5 Georgetown (Aug. 24, L 0-1)
        #14 Virginia (Sept. 9, L 1-4))
        #45 Delaware (Oct. 18)
        #47 Navy (Sept. 14, L 2-3)

National Rankings:  Two of the Dukes' regular-season opponents and one preseason opponent are ranked or are receiving votes in the latest national polls.
