Chris joined the James Madison University Athletic Training Education Program as a Faculty member in August 2006. In the summer of 2007, Chris assumed the position of adjunct assistant athletic trainer and in 2008 he was promoted to Assistant Athletic Trainer with responsibilities  with the men's soccer, men's golf, and women's golf programs.  Chris was elevated to Associate Athletic Trainer in 2011.  Chris also serves as an approved clinical instructor with the CAATE approved Athletic Training Education Program and provides clinical education and evaluation for the undergraduate athletic-training students.

Chris has worked in several settings during his career. He most recently was the Head Athletic Trainer at Hidden Valley High School in Roanoke Va. Prior to that Chris served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the Virginia Military Institute for four years. While at VMI he served as the Head Football and Men's Lacrosse Athletic Trainer.

Chris received his undergraduate degree at California State University Chico in May 1998. He completed his Master's degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia in August 2000.  Chris is nationally certified by the Board of Certification and is a licensed athletic trainer by the Virginia Board of Medicine.  He also holds advanced certifications in the Graston Technique soft tissue mobilization.

Chris and his wife Theresa reside in Harrisonburg with their sons Marshall and Brandon.
