JMU This Season: 9-7-2 overall, 5-3-2 in Colonial Athletic Association This Week: * JMU finishes CAA and regular-season play at Virginia Commonwealthon Oct. 31 (5 p.m.).
* CAA Standings: With one game left, Hofstra remains in first place in the league standings with a 7-1-2 CAA record and 23 points. The Pride will conclude regular-season play Oct. 31 at second-place Northeastern (6-1-3, 21 points). That match that will determine the number one seed and the host team for the upcoming four-team CAA Tournament. The tournament semifinals and final are hosted by the top-seeded team on Nov. 6 & 8. Hofstra and Northeastern have locked up berths in the tournament, but JMU and three other teams are in the running for the remaining two spots. North Carolina Wilmington (6-3-1, 19 points) is in third place and hosts Georgia State in its final match on Oct. 30. JMU and George Mason are tied for fourth with identical 5-3-2 records and 17 points. William and Mary (5-5-0, 15 points) is in sixth place. JMU, Mason and W&M play their final matches on Oct. 31. A JMU win in its season-finale at VCU would guarantee the Dukes a CAA tournament berth. The Dukes could still qualify with a tie or a loss but the qualification would be dependent on Mason and W&M's results in their final matches. In case of a tie in the standings, JMU wins the tie-breaker with George Mason and William and Mary due to its regular-season wins over those teams. JMU loses the tie-breaker with UNCW due to its regular-season loss to the Seahawks.

* ScoutingVirginia Commonwealth:The Rams sit at 6-10-2 overall and have a 2-7-1 record in CAA play. VCU comes into Saturday's regular-season finale on a five-game losing streak. The Rams own conference victories over George Mason (2-1) and Drexel (2-0) and a tie with Georgia State (0-0). VCU has lost to Towson (1-0), UNCW (4-1), Delaware (1-0), William and Mary (1-0), Old Dominion (1-0), Hofstra (3-0) and Northeastern (3-1). VCU is led in scoring by senior forward Jasmine Riley, whose six goals and six assists put her in eighth place in the conference in points.
* The Series with Virginia Commonwealth: JMU leads the all-time series against the Rams 10-7-2, but VCU has won five of the last seven contests, including a 2-1 double-overtime victory in Harrisonburg last year. The Rams have a 4-1-1 record against the Dukes over the last six games played at VCU.
* Dukes in the National Stats:In the latest NCAA National Statistics (games through Oct. 25), Teresa Rynier is ninth in assist average (0.61) and Corky Julien is 31st in goals average (0.667) and 49th in points average (1.44). Rynier's school-record four-assist game vs. Xavier on Aug. 28 ties for the single-game high in NCAA Division I this fall. Mariah Johnston of Denver and Kendyl Mygatt of Mississippi also had four-assist games this season.
* JMU in the CAA Stats: In the latest CAA Statistics (games through Oct. 25) Teresa Rynier leads the conference in both assists (11) and assist average (0.61). Corky Julien is second in goals (12) and goals average (0.67) and is tied for second in points (26) and points average (1.44). Julien is tied for the league lead in game-winners (6).
* On the JMU Career Lists: Goals:Corky Julien remains in second place on the career goals list with 42. In first place is Ashley Williamson (1992-95) with 55. Cate Tisinger has 18 career goals and remains in 13th place. Assists:Teresa Rynier's assist in the Dukes' 2-1 Oct. 23 loss at Northeastern earned her a share of JMU's career record of 36 assists. She shares the record with Carrie Proost (1990-94), who played in JMU's first season of soccer. Rynier had assists on all three goals in a 3-2 home win over Towson on Sept. 27, one below her school record of four assists against Xavier on Aug. 28. Tisinger remains tied for ninth place with 18. Julien remains tied for 20th place with 13.
Points:Julien has 97 career points and remains in third place on JMU's career points list. Ahead of Julien in second place is Therese Wolden (1995-98) with 101 points. Rynier moved into a tie for 14th place. She has 58 points. Tisinger remains in 16th place. She has 54 points.
Saves:Diane Wszalek has increased her career total to 227 with 15 stops last week, including a season-high 10 in the overtime tie with Hofstra. She remains in fifth place on JMU's career list. Ahead of her in fourth is Cheryl Carr (1991-94) with 233.
Complete-Game (Solo) Shutouts: With a double-overtime shutout at Hofstra on Oct. 25, Wszalek increased her career total to 16 and moved into a tie for second place on JMU's career list. She shares the spot with Suzanne Wilson (1998-01).
Total Shutouts (Solo & Shared):Wszalek has increased her career total to 21 and has is now in sole possession of fourth place on JMU's career list.
