HARRISONBURG, Va., Oct. 26, 2009 - The James Madison football team goes on the road for the second-straight week and will be playing a nationally ranked Colonial Athletic Association team for the fourth-consecutive game when it plays at Delaware Saturday (Oct. 31).
Saturday's noon game will be Delaware's homecoming - the third-straight week during which the Dukes will have played in a homecoming game - and will be televised by regional cable affiliate The Comcast Network (formerly CN8).
Delaware is 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the CAA. The Blue Hens are ranked 16th in this week's Football Championship Subdivision poll by The Sports Network and 18th in the FCS coaches' poll. Delaware did not play last Saturday (Oct. 24).
JMU is 2-5 for the season and 0-4 in CAA games. The Dukes lost 24-3 last Saturday at league foe William & Mary.
Delaware leads the series with JMU 11-7 and has a 7-2 lead in games played on its field JMU. The Blue Hens won 37-34 at home in 2007, and JMU defeated Delaware 41-7 a year ago in Harrisonburg.
Delaware has won the last six series meetings at home with JMU's last win there a 30-10 decision in 1994.
After playing at Delaware, JMU will play two of its final three 2009 games at home. The Dukes host Maine Nov. 7 and Towson Nov. 21. They play at Massachusetts Nov. 14.
