Four Harrisonburg-area college basketball coaches will host a Coaches Vs. Cancer breakfast Nov. 4 at Ham's Restaurant.

HARRISONBURG, Va., Oct. 22, 2009 -  James Madison men's basketball coach Matt Brady will join Bridgewater coach Don Burgess and Eastern Mennonite coach Kirby Dean for the inaugural Shenandoah Valley Coaches Tip-Off Breakfast to benefit "Coaches vs. Cancer".  The tip-off breakfast also will feature JMU women's basketball coach Kenny Brooks and will be held at the Harrisonburg's Ham's Restaurant on University Blvd., Nov. 4.

The event will include presentations by the college coaches on the upcoming basketball season and a silent auction.  All proceeds will go toward cancer research.  The tip-off breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. with doors opening at Ham's at 8 a.m.  Admission is $12 and includes the breakfast.

Whether you're a coach or a fan, you can use your love of the game as a positive tool by supporting "Coaches vs. Cancer".  These coaches in the Shenandoah Valley are reaching out to the community to help win the fight against cancer.

"Coaches vs. Cancer" has raised nearly $50 million since its inception to support the American Cancer Society's life saving mission to eliminate cancer as a life threatening disease.  Every dollar provided goes toward eliminating cancer.  Together, we share the hope for a cancer-free society.

For more information about the tip-off breakfast, contact Kevin Hargrove with JMU's men's basketball at 540-568-3417 or email hargrokl@jmu.edu.
