2009-10

 

  • Texas A&M transfer who became eligible to play after the end of JMU's fall semester. Played for JMU for the first time Dec. 12 at Eastern Michigan. Enrolled for JMU's spring 2009 semester after playing for three semesters at Texas A&M.
  • Second Team All-CAA, All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association and All-District by the NABC.
  • First player in league history to lead the CAA in scoring (20.8), rebounding (9.2) and field goal percentage (.594). Averaged 2.5 assists per game.
  • His 20.8 scoring average is JMU's No. 8 season and No. 2 career figure. His 9.2 rebounding average is JMU's No. 9 season mark and its No. 2 career mark (No. 3 in Division I). His 59.4 percent shooting mark is JMU's No. 3 career mark. Attempted 172 free throws, JMU's No. 5 season mark.
  • Scored in double figures in each of his 25 JMU games, 20 points 13 times and 30 three times. His 12 scoring-rebounding "double-doubles" are JMU's No. 3 season Division I figure and equal its No. 3 career Division I mark.
  • At Gardner-Webb had 37 points and 15 rebounds. His scoring output matched JMU's No. 8 NCAA mark and has been surpassed only three times since JMU has been in Division I (beginning 1976-77). Was CAA Player of the Week. A Duke last had had as many as 37 points Feb. 9, 2008 (Abdulai Jalloh, 37 at UNC Wilmington) and as many as 15 rebounds Dec. 3, 2005 (Juwann James, 15 vs. Northeastern). His 17 field goals matched JMU's No.3 game mark and are its second best in Division I. His 25 shots matched JMU's No. 7 game mark.
  • Vs. Radford had 17 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and four blocks. Was the first Duke since 1976-77 to have 15 points and rebounds and five assists during a game.
  • At Georgia State Feb. 16 had 34 points, matching the No. 14 game-scoring mark in JMU varsity history. Had 31 points on 13-of-17 shooting at Virginia Commonwealth Feb. 24.
  • During the CAA Tournament had 22 points and 10 rebounds vs. Drexel and 17 points and 15 rebounds vs. William & Mary.
  • Vs. Towson in a 69-66 win Jan. 9 had 21 points and eight rebounds. Had six blocks, matching the then-No. 6 mark in team history and the then-best mark by a Duke since Kenny Whitehead's (2001-03) seven at Furman Nov. 22, 2002. Had 14 second-half points, including a dunk at 1:36 to tie the score at 66-66.
  • Vs. Fordham had team highs of 24 points and 13 rebounds, including 19 points and 10 rebounds after JMU trailed 41-32 at halftime. Also had four assists and two blocked shots. Had seven points and assisted on a three-pointer during JMU's 12-0 run to start the final half. Had six points and seven rebounds during an 18-2 run after JMU trailed 67-66.

Before JMU

 

  • Played in 2007-08 (24 minutes) and early during the 2008-09 season (49 minutes) at Texas A&M.
  • As a freshman appeared in eight games and had seven points, six rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot.
  • During his partial season as a sophomore appeared in nine games. Averaged 2.4 points and 1.2 rebounds and had an assist. Had consecutive six-point games in 10 minutes against Tulsa and in a season-best 13 minutes against Kent State. Had four points against Arizona and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Had six rebounds in nine minutes against McNeese State and three rebounds in 10 minutes against Tulsa.
  • As a senior at Kempsville High School was rated the No. 63 prospect in the nation and the No. 13 center nationally by ScoutHoops.com.
  • Averaged 20.6 points and 10.8 rebounds as a scholastic senior. Was a two-time All-District choice and a league Defensive Player of the Year. Had a 39-point game as a senior and an 18-rebound game as a junior.
  • Averaged 12.8 points and 9.7 rebounds as junior.
