Department Description:
The Athletics Compliance Office will assist JMU coaches, staff, students and fans to understand and abide by the rules and regulations of the NCAA and CAA. This is accomplished through monthly NCAA rules education meetings with coaching staff, rules education programs for student-athletes, athletics department staff members, and boosters. The Compliance Office also monitors coaching staff members’ recruiting activities as well as student-athletes receipt of benefits, eligibility and financial awards.
Practicum/Internship Description: Practicum and internships will be given the opportunity to work in a variety of areas withing the Compliance Office. Responsibilities include data collection and input, projects, copying, file documents, organize, assist administrative assistants and Director of Compliance, may attend rules education meetings, assist with practice spot checks.
Candidate will be required to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, reliability and attention to detail to be considered for this position. The student should also possess excellent oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
