Department Description: Athletic Facilities and Events is the action behind the action. Our office is predominantly "behind the scenes" and handles the planning, set-up, execution (w/other departments in Athletics), and tear-down of events. Our main responsibility is management of athletic facilities and providing operational support of the athletic and special events on campus. Athletics Facilities & Building Manager Internship (1 position available Fall, Spring & Summer semesters): The Athletics Facilities & Building Manager Intern will coordinate the Building Manager Program and assist with all athletics facilities including Bridgeforth Stadium, Convocation Center, Godwin Hall, Memorial Hall, University Park, field hockey complex, and tennis courts.  The intern will work Sunday through Saturday depending on events, including nights.  Training will be provided.  Duties include:

  • Assist the Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities & Events, the Assistant Director of Facilities and the Assistant Director of Events
  • Provide quality control for athletic facilities
  • Assist with supervising student staff
  • Inspect facilities and report maintenance/operations issues; enter work requests; maintain facilities project list
  • Coordinate the Building Manager Program which includes but is not limited to:  Perform various administrative duties Provide exceptional customer service to the general public and athletic department employees  
    • Providing building security for all athletics facilities
    • Assisting event personnel with set-ups, tear-downs and occasional game operations
    • Locking and securing all athletic facilities after use is complete
    • Completing Building Manager Report forms in order to track issues and provide means for follow-up
    • Reporting issues which need immediate assistance to work control and/or campus police

 

Athletics Building Manager Practicum (up to 4 positions available Fall, Spring & Summer semesters): The Athletics Building Manager practicum student will supervise and have a presence within all athletics facilities including Bridgeforth Stadium, Convocation Center, Godwin Hall, Memorial Hall, and the athletics fields during non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends. Training will be provided.  Duties include:

  • Provide building security for all athletics facilities
  • Assist event personnel with set-ups, tear-downs and occasional game operations
  • Lock and secure all athletic facilities after use is complete
  • Complete Building Manager Report forms in order to track issues and provide means for follow-up
  • Report issues needing immediate assistance to work control and/or campus police
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the general public and athletic department employees

Hours for this position are as follows (weekend hours will be split shifts):

     *Monday-Friday: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

     *Saturday-Sunday: 7 a.m.-11 p.m.
