 Game Notes:

  • The Dukes and the Dragons are both 3-0 in CAA play, the lone unbeaten teams left in the league.  JMU boasts a 13-4 overall record while Drexel is 8-8 for the season.
  • Thursday night's game pits the No. 1 offense in the league versus the No. 1 defense in the league as JMU leads the CAA in scoring offense (73.4 ppg) and Drexel leads the CAA in scoring defense (55.0 ppg).  It will also be a battle on the boards as JMU leads the league in offensive-rebound percentage (.429) and Drexel leads the league in defensive-rebound percentage (.705).
  • Fans will have an opportunity to send their own "Get Well Soon" message to former JMU standout Dawn Evans (JMU '11) at the game by filming a personal message and signing a banner before the game as well as joining in a group message at half time.

  • After a two-week break, the JMU track and field team will compete for the second time during the indoor season when it travels to Blacksburg, Va. for the Virginia Tech Hokie Invitational
  • The Dukes won five events at the season-opening Navy Winter Invitational, including a win by sophomore Adrienne Alexander in the shot put with an indoor school record toss of 13.93 meters.
  • Freshman Morgan Crewe won in her first collegiate competition with the Dukes. She took first in the high jump, clearing 1.65 meters.

 Game Notes:

  • JMU plays the College of Charleston for the second time in five games. The Dukes lost to the Cougars 75-61 on the road on Jan. 7.
  • Sophomore guard Andre Nation is coming off a career-high 25-point game at William & Mary on Saturday. But, the Tribe shot 10-of-20 from beyond the arc on its way to a 78-56 win.
  • Willis Hall averages just shy of a double-double for the Cougars with 11.7 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game.

 Game Notes:

  • JMU had four athletes meet ECAC qualifying standards in its season-opening indoor event at Navy.
  • The Dukes dominated the 5,000-meter run at Navy with Stacey Nobles winning the race with a time of 17:11.02. Jenna Flickinger was the runner-up in the event.
  • Katie Harman was a two-event winner for JMU at the Navy Invitational. She won the mile with a time of 4:55.78 and ran a leg on the winning distance medley relay.
  • Morgan Sheaffer, Lillie Brown and Erin Lopresti joined Harman on the first-place distance medley relay team.

 Game Notes:

  • The Dukes rank first in the CAA and 10th in the nation in blocked shots per game (5.8).  In the first three games on the CAA slate, the Dukes have swatted away 9.7 shots per game.
  • Sophomore Precious Hall posted back-to-back 20-plus point performances to help lead the Dukes to a 3-0 start in league play.  In the Dukes' 77-50 win at Hofstra, Hall went 11-of-11 from the charity stripe to extend her consecutive-made free-throw streak to 19 (started Jan. 2 at UNC).
  • UNCW snapped a 14-game losing-streak on Jan. 19 with a 54-53 win at Towson.  The Seahawks were led by junior Kelva Atkins' 21 points and freshman Ryan Flowers' 10 rebounds.
