HARRISONBURG, Va., April 23, 2012 - James Madison senior tennis player Bertrand Moulin (Lyon, France/Aux Lazaristes Minimes(Wayne State)) was recognized as a finalist for the Gary '81 & Fredericka (Cookie) McCollum JMU 2011-12 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. 

The award winner and finalists were recognized Monday night at the annual JMU student-athlete awards banquet.

Moulin is a Dean's List student majoring in management.  He was a 2010 and 2011 All-CAA Doubles player as well as a 2011 recipient of the Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner's Academic Award.  Moulin posted a 44-36 career singles record as well as a 50-31 career doubles record as a transfer from Wayne State.

While at Wayne State, Moulin had a streak of 14 straight wins during his sophomore year.  He was a two-time First Team All-GLIAC player and was ranked as high as third in the Midwest Region and 45th nationally in ITATennis.com Division II rankings for singles.  Moulin was also ranked as high as fourth regionally in doubles play.

Adam Bastidas of the men's soccer team won the award.  Other finalists along with Moulin were Rich Leeper of men's golf and Pat Williams from football.
