HARRISONBURG, Va., June 21, 2011 - Rising sophomore Carolyn Payne (Annandale, Va./W.T. Woodson) will represent JMU at the 2011 USA Track & Field Junior Championships, which will be held June 23-26 in Eugene, Ore.
Payne will race in the 5,000-meter run at the meet. She brings in a personal-best time of 17 minutes, 43.80 seconds, which she set on May 6 at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships in Richmond, Va. Payne took seventh in that race.
