HARRISONBURG, Va., June 28, 2010 - In its continued efforts to enhance the support for student-athletes, James Madison University (JMU) Athletics has made a move to increase its sponsorships program through a partnership with Front Row Marketing Services. Front Row, a subsidiary of the internationally recognized sports and entertainment firm Comcast-Spectacor, of Philadelphia, Pa., will work to increase the exposure and reach of JMU through this new partnership.
"We are excited to have Front Row Marketing Services, one of the country's leading sponsorship firms, working to secure successful sponsorship and media rights opportunities for JMU," said Geoff Polglase, Deputy Athletics Director. "Working with Front Row will add resources to the department that will enhance our student-athletes' and coaches' efforts on the field, in the classroom and in the community. Along with those improvements internally, the partnership will increase the exposure and strengthen the branding of JMU Athletics within the region, state and nation."
Front Row Marketing Services will assist JMU in recognizing potential sponsorship opportunities for its entire athletics department, including current and future facilities. Success has been a tradition at JMU, and at the conclusion of the 2009 football season, JMU's Bridgeforth Stadium began a two-year expansion project. The expansion calls for an addition of 10,000 seats improving sight-lines for all seats, additional development to the media and press center, and the addition of suites and club level seats. The campaign for Bridgeforth Stadium will be completed fall 2011.
"We always look for ways to improve our support for our student-athletes and their experience at JMU," JMU Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne said. This is another step in that direction as we continue to work to provide the resources needed for our student-athletes to reach their goals and have a great experience at Madison.
In addition to the expansion at Bridgeforth Stadium, the new Veterans Memorial Park for the baseball and softball programs opened this past season to record crowds. The University also has started the construction on the University Park complex off Port Republic Road. This project includes new athletic facilities for men's and women's soccer, women's lacrosse and women's track and field, as well as new intramural and recreation areas for the entire student body. This project is slated to be complete in 2012.
"We are excited to be working with James Madison University to contribute to the growing success of JMU Athletics. With the completion of the Bridgeforth Stadium expansion, the exposure and sponsorship success will only add to the continued eminence of JMU Athletics," said Bryan Furey, Regional Vice President for Front Row Marketing Services. "One of our specialties is mobilizing a local sales force and hitting the ground running, which we have already begun to do in Harrisonburg. We look forward to a long, successful partnership with JMU and its surrounding community."
