HARRISONBURG, Va., Oct. 31, 2012 – James Madison field hockey senior midfielder Jenna Taylor (Midlothian, Va./James River) was selected to play in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Senior Game. The game will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 on the campus of Old Dominion University at 3 p.m.
In four seasons with JMU, Taylor has appeared in 73 games, starting 67 of them. She has started every game for the past three seasons, including 59 straight starts heading into this weekend’s Colonial Athletic Association Championship. Taylor has three goals and added 15 assists for 21 career points. As a senior, she has a career-high seven assists, ranking second on the team.
On Wednesday, the Midlothian, Va., native was named to the All-CAA First Team for the second-consecutive season. She is a two-time Preseason All-CAA honoree, and as a junior she was named to the CAA All-Championship team and was a Virginia Sports Information Director (VaSID) Second Team All-State honoree.
In addition to athletic success, Taylor is also a Dean’s List Student and a JMU Athletic Director Scholar-Athlete. She has also received the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award and in 2011 was a NFHCA National Academic Squad selection.
Taylor and JMU are in action this weekend at the 2012 CAA Field Hockey Championship. The third-seeded Dukes take on sixth-seeded Hofstra at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 at Drexel University.
