|The Duke Club has announced their new Volunteer and Rewards System. This program allows for all donors to take part in the future of JMU Athletics and the Duke Club by becoming personally invested - both with their time and their gifts.
The program is highlighted by the “Rootin’ Rewards” system. This initiative allows for donors and fans to earn exclusive items for supporting the Duke Club. Members can choose to assist by engaging with those in their community or making gifts to support the over 400 student-athletes at JMU.
“This program is a game changer for us,” Dave Biancamano, Associate Athletics Director for External Development and Fundraising said. “It really allows our most passionate supporters and advocates to choose how they want to be involved, and allows us to reward them with unique items and experiences as we say ‘thank you’.”
Donors who wish to be more involved will be geographically placed in regions. Each region is overseen by several “Captains” who have assumed additional responsibilities and serve a two-year term. Members are then able to create events and activities in their own communities that reflect their interest and desire to further support the Duke Club. Frank Ridgway, Duke Club member since 1980 and one of the captains in the Richmond area said, “It’s an excellent way to re-energize and engage all of our Duke Club members via a flexible program that provides opportunities for everyone to align their interests and abilities with the Duke Club’s goal.”
Barry Saadatmand, another longtime supporter of the Duke Club added, “I want to know that I’ve done all I can personally to help JMU compete at the highest level and attract the best student-athletes while also assisting with energizing the fan base in the region.”
The Rootin’ Rewards program will be housed online at DukeClubRewards.com. Members of the Duke Club are encouraged to log on, learn more about the program and create their own profile to begin earning rewards right away.
