Getting to know Ivan...

Why did you choose JMU?
After my official visit I was sure that this was the right place for me. I love the coaching staff, the campus is beautiful as well as the people.  Also academically JMU is very strong.

What is your major?
International Business

Which of your teammates would you most want to play in a one-on-one game?
It would be great to play against each of them, because I can learn something from every one.

What did last year’s NCAA tournament run mean to you?
It was great that guys last year accomplished something as huge as making the NCAA tournament. Of course it is huge motivation for all of us to repeat.

I wear #55 because...
I will keep that as a secret for now...

If not basketball, what other sport would you play?
Probably volleyball or soccer. I love both sports.

What will it take for you to consider this season a success?
Win a championship and improve as a team so we can do it again next year.

Other than playing pro basketball, what are your career goals?
Work with different businesses across the world.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be?
I would love to go to Spain.  I think it is a wonderful and the people there are nice and friendly.

How old were you when you first knew that you wanted to play basketball in college?
Actually it happened 2 years ago when I was 18. I realized how great it would be to play basketball at the next level and in addition to that have an opportunity to graduate from a great business school, which has been a dream of mine for a long time.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Can’t think that far ahead.

If you could have dinner with any 3 people in the world, who would they be?
My best friends or family members.
