    RICHMOND, Va., March 18, 2010 - James Madison women's golfers Mary Chamberlain (Dennis, Mass./Suffield Academy) and Nicole Sakamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii/Kalani) were named Colonial Athletic Association co-Players of the Week for the week ending March 14.  Chamberlain was also named the CAA Player of the Week retroactively for the week ending Feb. 17.

    The duo shared the honor this week after each finished tied for third at the Low Country Intercollegiate in the Dukes' second-place finish at the event.  Sakamoto tied the tournament's low-round with a 74 on Sunday on her way to a 77-74=151.  She also tied her career-low for a 36-hole event with the 151.  This is the second time Sakamoto was named the CAA Player of the Week, taking home the honor for the week ending Sept. 13 after winning the Mary Fossum Intecollegiate.

    Chamberlain recorded her fourth straight top 15 finish and her third top 10 in the last four events with her finish in Hilton Head, S.C.  The junior shot a 76-75=151 and also set a career best for a 36-hole event, breaking her previous mark by seven strokes.

    Chamberlain finished third out of 90 golfers at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, Fla. to earn the Player of the Week honor for Feb. 17.  She shot a 76-70-75=221 and was one stroke off her career-low for a 54-hole event.  Her 70 in the second round tied a career-low for an 18-hole round.

    The Dukes next event is March 22-23 in the Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, N.C.
